Day after RSS worker, family’s murder in Bengal’s Murshidabad, police detain 2

Murshidabad police on Thursday said that they have detained two people in the incident where a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker, his pregnant wife, and their eight-year-old son were on Wednesday found murdered in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district.

Murshidabad SP Mukesh Kumar said that they are already investigating the matter and added that there is no political involvement in the murder case.

Murshidabad SP Mukesh Kumar said, “Prima facie looks like a case related to lending, dues and troubled relationships of husband and wife.”

The police said the murder is “purely criminal case”.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said, “I am in deep pain. The murder in Murshidabad puts humanity to shame. A teacher, his pregnant wife and eight-year-old kid were killed in a barbaric manner and there has been no response from the state machinery so far. I’d urge the authorities to carry out a quick investigation into this matter.”

Terming the incident as gruesome, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sambit Patra said, “Gruesome video. This has shaken my conscience. An RSS worker Sh Bandhu Prakash Pal, his eight months pregnant wife and his kid were brutally slaughtered in West Bengal’s Murshidabad. Not a word by the liberals. Not a letter by 59 liberals to Mamata. Nauseating selectivism!
